HostPegasus will transfer all of your website’s files, databases, and email (cPanel only) to our services and then point the domain to your new web hosting account with HostPegasus. The whole website transfer process will take upto 24 hours to complete. The process will go alot faster if you are already on a cPanel web host.
The Website Transfer Process
Once you sign up for an account with HostPegasus, all you need to do to initiate the website transfer is provide us with some information about your current web host and web hosting account in a ticket. Once we receive this information we will attempt to log in with the information provided and copy all of your files, databases, and email and transfer them to your new web hosting account with HostPegasus. Once all files are copied over to our services, we will email you with a temporary website address where you can view your website on HostPegasus servers prior to making the switch. Once we get the OK from you we will change your domain name to point to your new web hosting account with us.
The whole process will take 24-48 hours for the domain name to update across the world. During this time some people will be viewing your site on your old host and some traffic will see your site hosted with us. This is called the domain propagation period. Once the domain is finished propagating your website will be pulling from HostPegasus servers. The transfer is now complete.
